WHAT/WHO/HOW/WHY:
The rapture is an event that will happen. Most Christians believe this. Jesus will come down+call all His followers (dead+alive) to go to Heaven. We will meet Him in the air. It’s God’s rescue plan for His followers before things get crazy on Earth.

WHEN:
This is the only question we don’t have answers to. Or do we?

What if I told you Jesus were returning this weekend? Chances are, a lot of you would laugh. A few would start living a little differently. Most would panic. Either way, a guy from Cali has predicted it’s going to happen…this Saturday.

Instead of giving in to my cynical, sarcastic side, I’ll just let Jesus speak for Himself.

“…no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or [Jesus] Himself. Only the Father knows.” Matthew 24:36

I really feel that “when?” is the wrong question to be asking. Here’s the deal. If Jesus comes back this weekend or you die next year, are you in right relationship with Him now? It’s all that matters.

Between The Sheets | 004 | Don’t Awaken It
I am not anti-dating. I just feel it’s a waste of time+emotion to awaken love before the time is right. And in this message, I give five reasons why.

Take aways are below:

Physical purity is important. So is emotional purity.
Don’t trade life long friendships for short term relationships.
Your future spouse is alive today.
Don’t pass out pieces of your heart to other people.
You’ll want their entire heart. They’ll want yours too.

Between The Sheets | 003 | Five Questions You Won’t Ask Your Parents
I’m sure it’s uncomfortable to talk to your kid about sex, which is probably why my parents never did. Instead, I gained all my (inaccurate) information from my cousins+friends…who’d never had sex. :) Remember parents, if you’re not talking to your kids about sex, someone else is…and it’s probably the wrong information.

But truthfully, even when parents do give “The Talk”, there are still questions that go unasked+unanswered. And that’s why I gave this message.

On a side note, please pray for Joy+I. We’re about to have this conversation with Autumn who is 9.

In place of take aways, I simply listed the questions to whet your appetite:

How far is too far?
Is being gay or bi-sexual wrong?
What’s the problem with casual sex?
Is oral sex, sex?
What’s wrong with the way I dress?

We live in a sexually saturated society. Don’t believe me?
Read Rihanna’s “S+M” lyrics. Or watch an episode of Jersey Shore. Just 2 examples of many. Spiritual, physical, emotional purity comes at a price. We’ve got to fight for it.

Here are a few take aways:

Guard the things you see, smell, touch, hear.
You are accountable for what you see+for what you show.
Remember the Bounce Effect.
Set biblical boundaries for your body.
Proverbs 4:23-25, 2 Timothy 2:22, Genesis 3:3.

Between The Sheets | 001 | Sex Is Good
This was a genuinely fun series at Renew. There was a lot of humor+a lot of heart.

Here is the first of five messages from our series, Between The Sheets. We split guys+girls the fifth week for an open Q+A discussion, so I will not be posting that audio.

Below are a few take aways from the first week. And for the record, sex really is like driving a car…

Sex isn’t a dirty deeds, but a divine gift.
It must be used in the proper setting (one man, one woman, in marriage).
Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:18-25.

What Should I Know About Water Baptism?
01: It symbolizes Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

02: It should only be done after a person realizes their sin, confesses their sin, asks Jesus Christ to forgive their sin, and turns from their sin.
Romans 3:10. 1 John 1:9. Acts 3:19.

03: It identifies us as followers of Christ, not just fans. It is an outward expression of an inward, lifetime commitment.

04: It shouldn’t be taken lightly, but with reverence to God.

05: It can’t save you, but Jesus commanded all believers to do it.
Matthew 28:19.

Am I Really Ready?
Only you can know for sure. Carefully look over the above statements and scriptures (especially 02). Then take time to discuss with your parents. They should be involved with this decision.
